The Art of What Goes Unsaid

I paint the expressions people don't intend to reveal — a hesitation in the eyes, a quiet tension, an emotion that hasn't quite found its words.

Growing up in Japan, I learned kuuki wo yomu, the practice of reading the atmosphere. That sensitivity continues to shape how I approach people and painting.

Working in watercolor, I allow pigment and water to move freely before gradually bringing certain expressions into focus. Some passages remain unresolved, leaving space for viewers to discover their own meanings.

My original paintings invite you to pause, look closer, and connect with the emotions that make us human.
